about my work
I've always enjoyed experimenting and just seeing where that takes me, so there isn't really any one particular style or way of characterizing my artwork. The brief collection of paintings in this website gallery represents a pretty good cross-section of those experiments over different periods. I mostly work with acrylics and mixed media on canvas.
Following my retirement as a special education teacher, I directed my focus toward studying and making art. For 20 years I worked as a docent at the de Young and the Legion of Honor museums in San Francisco. I thoroughly enjoyed docenting as an extension of my teaching, and found it to be great inspiration for my own art.
